Helena and Claire Steele names their original apron designs after some of the twentieth century’s leading ladies – from Doris Day to Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Inspired by iconic graphics from the 1930’s and 40’s, Claire Steele designs the Jessie Steele fabrics in-house with her design team. This along with Helena’s creation of original figure flattering apron styles creates that unmistakable Jessie Steele look. From vibrant cupcakes and hearts to vintage 1950’s kitchen scenes and retro cherries, each apron and coordinating product compliment the vintage hand-me down aprons found in many kitchen drawers and attics. “We want people to think about simpler times when they slip on our aprons. It’s all about going back to basics” said Claire Steele. “Not only do the aprons bring back early memories of cooking with Grandma, but they make today’s women feel flirty and glamorous.“
Founded in 2002, Jessie Steele was inspired by Helena Steele’s collection of 20th century vintage aprons with their heirloom qualities and nostalgic beauty from a bygone era. In anticipation of the recent home nesting trend, Helena Steele approached her daughter, Claire Steele about designing a line of timeless aprons. With many people returning to the basics and choosing to entertain at home more often, the apron designs appeal to the modern women who love to cook and entertain at home with family and friends.
